Before we read:
One advertisement for ‘Tomorrow, When The War Began’ states:
‘Hell isn’t only a place for the damned, sometimes it’s a place where the saved take refuge… Seven teenagers take a trip to Hell. And seven come back. To Hell’
What do you think this statement means? That places we see as dangerous can be a safe space in times of need. In this case 'hell'
is the safe space.
What could 'hell' mean in this context?
A place viewed as bad or scary. It could also be a nickname.
Why do you think the story is entitled 'Tomorrow, when the war began'?

What does that make you think the book will be about?
A war and how a person or a group of people hide from it in 'hell'
What do you think the characters will be like?
It could be in the eyes of a soldier or from people who are in the middle of the war.
I think they'll be scared but thinking strategically to help them survive.
