Creative Writing

Sitting in the waiting room, tapping my foot onto the cold floor. I’ve been coming here everyday for the last three months and I’m slowly becoming numb to the heartache. The nurse walked out and tells me I can come in, giving me the same sad smile as always. I go to my normal chair right next to the hospital bed. I reach down and take a hold of Jahseh’s hand , it’s still warm which makes me hopeful. I turn on a playlist of all the songs we listened to that weekend. The weekend three months ago. That weekend was amazing. I try and remember that he was happy, it’s better than remembering the accident, the blood, the tears, the sadness.

That friday I heard a knock on my window, I was used to Jahs random midnight visits so I wasn’t scared
to let him in. He went straight to my bed, his eyes looked normal which was a surprise, I swear that boys
never sober. I got into bed and laid down for a while til I heard Jah whisper “Wanna run away?” I thought
for a while but decided I did, “Actually yeah”. Jah looked shocked but happy. I got up and started packing
remembering to grab the $200 I had still had left from my birthday. I opened the window “you coming?”
I asked which made him stand up and follow me out the window. We got into Jah’s car and drove for a
while until the question of where we were gonna stay came up. “My uncle has a cabin in the woods,
he’s out of the country at the moment and I know where the spare key is” I replied “Let’s go” Jah said as
he smiled. After a couple hours of driving we arrived and got straight into bed.

I woke up to Jahseh playing with my hair, making me smile “what do you wanna do today?” Jah asked,
“we could go for a walk, I know this lake like ten minutes away” I replied, Jah just smiled and nodded.
An hour or so went by and we were both ready, Jah opened the door for me and we started walking.
About 15 minutes into the walk we saw the lake, Jah grabbed my hand and started running.
Once we were on the rocky shore Jah stripped to his boxers and ran in. I slowly followed behind.
We stayed in the water all day. I only got out when I saw the sun was setting but Jah was still playing like
a kid in at the playground. It was good to see him having fun and smiling for once. It started getting dark
and we decided it would be a good time to head back.

Once we were back we decided to get in the spa. ”Jah, why’d you even want to run away in the first
place” I said, “my life’s turned to ruins, I don’t think I can survive in that house anymore” he sighed.
As the conversation continued I learnt so much about him.  He told me that from a young age he was
introduced to domestic abuse, suicide and so much else. You can tell everything takes a toll on him,
it made me realise how strong he was. I was becoming more interested with the person he really was
and it made me have a deeper appreciation for him. After talking for countless hours I noticed Jah was
getting tired so I decided we should go to bed. “Night, I love you” Jah mumbled making me blush
“I love you too Jah” I smiled.

I opened my eyes and rolled over to check the time, it was 9:23 am. I turned around to wake Jah up but
he wasn't there, I didn't think much of it and went back to sleep. I felt a tap on my shoulder and opened
my eyes seeing Jah there, his eyes were red but I tried to just trust that he was tired. “We should probably
go buy food today” Jah suggested, “probably” I laughed as I got up and started getting ready. Once I was
dressed I told Jah we should go and we raced to his car. We started driving to the closest supermarket,
even though it was an hour away. The first half of the trip was fun, we were singing and looking around
at the views of the empty roads, but about half way through Jah starting swerving a little bit and stopped
singing along to the music. “You alright?” I asked, “yeah” he replied. I don’t know why I trusted him,
I shouldn't have. The roads started getting busier and I saw it as I sign we were close, but it really just
made it more dangerous. That’s when It happened, the last thing I saw was the front of Jah’s car
smashing into a big truck then we flipped.

The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital. I was only out for a day, no broken bones
somehow, just some cuts here and there. As soon as I woke up I asked where Jah was, they told me
he was in the special care unit, he wasn't waking up, they put him into a medically induced coma. I got
released the same day I woke up. Once the hospital told me he was aloud visitors I went and sat with
him everyday. Including today, holding his somehow still warm hand, just thinking about what I could
have done different. I got drifted out of my thoughts when I felt Jahs hand start squeezing mine, looking
at him in shock, his eyes started opening. I pressed the button that let the doctors know they had to
come in. He was awake, talking, eating, and that’s when I discovered that being strong was not a
physical thing it was how much you can handle and Jah made me just as strong as him.

Crazy lyric dialogue

This is the only piece of writing I did in the Creative Writing Matrix, I don't like it but we have to do two blog posts so here's number one.

“You're sober and bored, huh?” asked Earl as we sat in his dirty bedroom “hell yeah” I replied lying down, falling into a pile of strange scented clothing, we were pretty bummed out as this was our third day with no weed. I heard Earls phone ring and we both shot up hoping it would be our dealer, and to our pleasure it was, Earl answered and 5 minutes later we heard a honk outside so we ran out and jumped in. “aye what you trynna do” Dre asked, I'm just tryna live life for the moment” I replied seconds before Earl said “stfu and drive tf” we all laughed as Dre speed off. After going straight past Dres house I asked where we were going and he told me it was a “surprise” weird ass. We came to a loud stop waking me from my slumber “where we at” I mumbled “Jay-Z’s house” what the hell, either he tweaking or we really at Jay-Z’s house, after looking around a bit I think that we really are at Jay-Z’s house. This is crazy. We all lie down and start smoking, me and Earl smoking weed on Jay-Z's lawn, damn.

kids on phones

I believe students are addicted to their cellphones. This is because we are always on it and prefer that
over real contact. For example when I go to the mall most kids are on their phones, we message more
people then we hang out with and they barely talk to their family. These are the reasons I believe students
are addicted to phones.

Paragraph for essay

The film aspect close up was used skilfully to show Sgt. Botha about to kill P.K. We can see Sgt. Botha holding a gun up to P.K, he looks pale and has blood all over his face. The director did this to show the audience how far people will be to other races because of their own beliefs. This made the audience feel anger against Sgt. Botha and his team. This aspect can be compared to earlier in the movie where he hung P.K’s chicken.

film techniques

1.I like the horror one bc I like horror movies and it adds more suspense.

4.Voice over, Costume, Wide shot.
1.Close up, Sound effects, Big close up.
2.Travel shot, Big close up, Dialogue.
3.Music, Dialogue, Close up.
4.Same character and dialogue but cut up and edited different.
5. Shows different scenes with different dialogue and lighting and they change the music and voice over.
6. Yes because I can see it in the trailers, by adding different scenes and music it can change the mood of the trailer. If only two scenes where scary you could edit them and add music and darken it to make it seem more scary.

What am I learning? About how the way stuff is edited can change it.
How does this work show my learning? That I know what film techniques they use.
What am I wondering about? Its probably hard to make that.

writing

L.O: write with speed
Today: I had to write about a candle, a broken window, the ocean, a loaf of bread and a dog

I was in my room with Landon Cube and we were rolling backwoods, we looked outside and seen this weird bih, she was just standing there. She was at the end of driveway so we just thought she was drunk. Randomly the power went out and I started freaking out Landon lit a candle and got me calm, so we decided to drive his car to the beach. We went through the hood and seen a bunch of broken windows. Once we got to the beach Landon and I stood in the ocean and just vibed for a little. We left bc we was hungry so we went to couplands and got a loaf of bread. Once we got driving home we drove past the SPCA and went to see some dogs and got really happy. Landon and I are now dog parents.

this is my map showing where the worst child labor is.

SEEL paragraph:

There are millions of children used in child labor all across the world. These kids are used to help family in poverty pay off debts. It's bad because they can get hurt. For example children are used in war. This takes away human rights by not giving the kids rights.
